Summer Heating Up.

New England has been getting hot lately, we've had a few 60 degree days, but its usually hotter, and usually raining. Despite this, we've been getting out climbing still.

Firstly, we finally made time to go out and try the big 45 degree project in Charlemont. Unfortunately, as we were hiking in, it started pouring, and even though we got a few tries in, the holds seeped quickly, and we left without doing any moves. However! We did build a baller landing for the thing, (which before was sketchy to say the least), so now it can be tried with like 3 pads and one spotter! We also found/envisioned a sick lip traverse that once cleaned and climbed, will be one of the best of the grade in western mass. I wont spoil it with pictures yet.

Trying the big 45 project as the rain started
As far as other climbing goes, Great Barrington has been the talk of  the town lately. It is the least dank dark-woody of western mass areas, so we've been cruising down there to escape the muggy, buggy conditions. God.. there are soo many incredible boulders and mini-areas there, and ive been psyched to cruise around on hot days and climb brand new v7 through 9s. This month ive done:
Castellete v9 (twice)
In plain sight v8
Vertigo v7
The remedy v8
J-lo v8
Prow Dyno v6
Sending Castellete

more importantly..

The speed boulder is absolutely incredible. Its been a while since i've been so psyched on a project, and the speed boulder has two perfect climbs on it, something from nothing, and roses and blue jays. God. Im so close on SFN. Every try today ive fallen with my hand in the slot, and my toe cam sliding out at the last second.. its only a matter of time..
A close attempt from the start today..
Getting radge on Roses
Tonight i'm packing for Europe, I leave the day after tomorrow, so needless to say, i'm psyched. I'm psyched for summer, im psyched for fall, i'm psyched for winter, i'm psyched on projects. I love rock climbing!!!
